Tri-State Baseball - Wednesday

We had another awesome day in the D.R. on Wednesday. The day started with a trip to the capital city to do some shopping and tract distribution. We visited the Straw Market where the name of the game is to barter. The guys got to experience what it was like to shop in a foreign country. We also passed out a number of tracts. It’s amazing how receptive these people are to the Gospel in the D.R.

After the shopping, we ate at a pizza place in the city before heading off to JUMBO to shop for groceries. We bought enough food ($300) to feed 30 families for three days. It was really amazing to see how appreciative they were to get the gift. Our hope was to show Christ’s love by meeting their physical needs. When we arrived at the village, some of the guys played baseball with the kids while others just spent some quality time with them. It was really fun to watch how some of our players really latched on to these kids here. We left for dinner and returned to the village to watch the Jesus Film for Children. We had an incredible turnout for the movie as people kept coming and coming. Although there were no outward decisions, our guide was confident that God had spoken to several of the people through this ministry. After the movie, Josh Frazier and Logan Blackwelder each shared their testimonies. God continues to move on this trip and we pray that He will continue to use us for the next two days.

The schedule for tomorrow (Thursday) is a game at the SCORE complex and a visit to the orphanage. Please keep our group in your prayers as we continue to press on to further God’s kingdom. I feel like He is not only working in the lives of the people in the D.R., but also in the lives of each of these young men on this trip.
