Tri-State Baseball - Tuesday

Today was another outstanding day in the Dominican Republic. God worked in an amazing way today as we saw 13 players and one coach accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. We are humbled to be able to be used by God in such a great way. We started the day by watching a couple of Major League baseball academy teams play at Baseball City. This complex is home to Dominican teams that belong to teams like the Cubs, Diamondbacks, Reds, and White Sox.

After returning to the SCORE Complex for lunch, we traveled almost two hours to play our third game of the week. Tri-State Baseball picked up their third win of the week with an 8-1 victory. Logan Blackwelder picked up the win on the mound. Blackwelder pitched all seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out 10. Dustin Smith, Jordan Gurley, and Kendall Murphy each had a pair of hits in the game. Smith also scored four runs.

The biggest win of the day was after the game as 14 on the opposing team made professions of faith. Josh Carroll shared his testimony and Grey Falanga made the Gospel presentation. I am continuously amazed to see how God is working in the young men that are on this trip. Continue to pray that we will just be willing to answer when He speaks.

The plans for today (Wednesday) include visiting the capital city to do some shopping and tract distribution. We also will visit a village on Wednesday evening. The plans at the village include bringing food and also showing the “Jesus Film” for Children. Our prayer is that God would open hearts that they would be receptive to the Gospel message.

Today as we saw heaven’s number being added to, I was reminded of a verse Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians. In verse 20, the Scripture says we are to be Christ’s ambassador as if God is appealing through us. It’s nice to know that even though God doesn’t need us. He still allows us to be used as His ambassador throughout our lives and specifically in the D.R. this week.
