We got to spend most our day with two very different groups of kids. Tenemos que pasar la mayoría de nuestros días con dos grupos muy diferentes de los niños. In the morning we went to a sugarcane village. En la mañana fuimos a una aldea de caña de azúcar. The kids came streaming out of the houses as our buses drove down the narrow dirt roads. Los niños vinieron a cabo el streaming de las casas como en los autobuses llevó a los estrechos caminos de tierra. Each of us had at least a couple kids hanging on at every moment we were there. We played “pato, pato, ganzo” aka duck, duck, goose; tag; had our hair braided; and visited the kids’ houses and school. Algunos de los chicos organizaron un partido de béisbol con los adolescentes de la aldea.   When asked who was winning, the boys of the village replied in Spanish, “We are, 8-3.” Cuando se le preguntó que era ganar, los muchachos de la aldea respondió en español, "Nos, 8-3."   “Are our players very good?” "¿Son nuestros jugadores muy buenos?"   I asked. Le pregunté.   “No, they’re terrible!” Needless to say that was a humbling experience for our guys. "N, son terribles!" Huelga decir que fue una humillante experiencia para nuestros chicos. However, we still had a great time in the village and in the end, through a translator, got to talk to the kids about Jesus. Those kids’ faces have become engrained in our hearts. Los niños se han convertido en rostros arraigada en nuestros corazones.

Our afternoon was emotionally draining. Nuestra tarde fue emocionalmente de drenaje. We went to a handicap orphanage. Fuimos a un orfanato de desventaja. For some, this was the first time seeing so many physically and mentally disabled children. Para algunos, esta fue la primera vez ver a tantos discapacitados físicos y mentales los niños. Sometimes the only thing we could do is touch them. A veces, la única cosa que podemos hacer es tocar. Most have to lay down all the time but their smiles are infectious. La mayoría tienen que establecer todo el tiempo, pero sus sonrisas son contagiosas. Through tear-filled eyes we laughed and smiled and reached out in the small ways we could. Our hearts can also find joy in the fact that someday those children too will be able to walk and talk in heaven. Our class is learning new lessons everyday. Nuestra clase es aprender nuevas lecciones todos los días. Our eyes are being opened to the world around us and we continue to become more and more grateful for all the blessings we have been given. Nuestros ojos se están abriendo al mundo que nos rodea y seguimos cada vez más agradecido por todas las bendiciones que han recibido.
