Short Term Trips Long Term Effects

Resurrection Life – Friday to Monday

Where do I begin. I apologize for taking so long to update you all. So much has happened. First, there was our Friday night devotions that turned into a powerful time in God’s presence. We praised, we worshiped, we prayed, we cried, we shared what God was doing in our lives during the trip so far. It was amazing that such a diverse team could come together and be so transparent. People shared how they were changed and will live lives that glorify God when they return home. I am so proud of the teens (and the adults too!) They are doing such a great job. God is doing awesome things in our lives. Mike Hereth announced that he wanted to be baptized (for
the first time ever) at the beach the next day (Saturday) which leads me to the next part.

At the beach the next day, Pastor Dan shared a quick salvation message about baptism. Mike was baptized along with several others on our team AND some Dominicans that decided that God put it on their heart to do so. One entire Dominican family was baptized by Pastor Dan and Pastor Ken. It ended up being a powerful time of evangelism. Unlike in America, the Dominicans stopped to read the tracts we were handing out. They would stand next to you and read it and then ask you questions about what they had read. It was really fun. We had a great time.

Today (Monday August 18th) we helped Millgrove Bible Church’s missions team build a church for a local pastor. The walls were half built so we added the wood frames that will soon (tomorrow) be covered by plywood and then the roof will be put up. What an amazing thing to be a part of!!!!!  Our new favorite song is Days of Elijah! Jessica and Brian – can you guys please practice it so we can do it at the Sunday we get back? It is the BEST song!

God bless!
