Central Baptist Church, Va – Wednesday
Unfortunately, today was our last scheduled ministry day, but we made the best of it. After a bit of a drive we spent the morning ministering at Jackie’s House, an orphanage with about 30 children. These children are all the children of prostitutes or children found in the city dump where they were brought by parents who didn’t want them. Jackie and her husband take them in and give them a family, and more importantly a life of hope in Jesus Christ. Donna helped lead the children through making both crafts we brought with us, and they were all very proud of what they had made. We also got to play music for them while they ate their lunches. After a quick lunch on the bus we were able to finish our ministry to them including a Spanish song accompanied by them playing kazoos, magic, and some testimonies including a great one by Chelsea.
After this, Jackie and her husband led us to an extremely poor village they have just recently begun to reach out to. First, we simply spent time playing with the kids with bubbles, Frisbees, and waffle balls and bats. Next, we were able to
perform our full program of including music and great testimonies by Alexis and others who talked about when they had received Christ as Savior. We finished our program with the drama followed by Brian giving a very clear gospel presentation. One woman stepped in front of the crowd and announced that she had just received Christ as her Savior! What an awesome blessing it was to be a part of! Lastly, we also had the privilege of being able to help Jackie and her husband pass out fresh baked bread and some juice to each and every person in the village. We were also able to make all of the children and adults some balloon animals, which they really appreciated.
Today was an awesome close to our “ministry” days, but our prayer is that even as we enjoy our free day tomorrow and our trip home Friday that we would always be looking for opportunities to minister and serve. Praise the Lord for what He did in us and through us today!
