Central Baptist Church, Va – Tuesday
We began today by traveling to the capital city of Santo Domingo for some sightseeing and souvenir shopping. We were able to spend about an hour in the “Straw Market” bartering for some killer deals on our treasures. While sightseeing in the capital we also passed out as many tracts as we could. Throughout the week we have almost passed out all of the 3000 tracts we brought with us. After sightseeing we ate lunch at Pollo Victorina or “Victory Chicken”, a fast food restaurant in the capital.
This afternoon we headed to JUMBO (the Dominical Wal-Mart) for another shopping experience, however, this shopping
trip was not for us. While at JUMBO, we were able to buy enough food to feed 38 families for an entire week. After a quick stop to pick up our ministry items, we headed off to a poor village to deliver the food to the people. We were able to minister to mostly adults in this village using instruments, songs, and the drama. We expressed to them that even though we brought them food, that we came to tell them something much more important than that, and shared with them that Jesus Christ loved them so much that He came and died for them.
This evening we had an excellent devotional time with the music being led by the Wings of Morning music team who is also ministering this week. They did a great job lifting up the name of the Lord and we were challenged through God’s Word by one of the SCORE missionaries. We finished the evening with an impromptu praise and worship time led by Janna and Drake. It was a fitting close to a day that we pray lifted up the name of the Lord.
