It’s exciting to see how baseball can continually be used to minister to the people of the Dominican Republic. We played two more baseball games today. Even though we suffered our first two losses of the trip, four more players came to know Christ through this ministry. Before our devotion the other night, Buddy Robinson made the comment that he hadn’t ever seen anyone saved on a baseball field. It’s exciting to see these young men being used by God to share the good news of the Gospel by using the game of baseball. We played the same team in both games on Thursday. We did something a little different and it was nice to be a part of. After the first game, we were able to feed the entire baseball team of 31 players. What is really amazing is that it only cost us twenty dollars to do it.
This team was much tougher than our previous opponents. We lost the first game 9-6 and the second game 12-3. Buddy Robinson, Ben Woodhouse, and Andy Timmons had the only three hits for Tri-State in the first game. Robinson, Woodhouse, Dustin Smith, and Brandon McAfee each had a hit in the final game. Jason Foley and Brandon McAfee did a great job of sharing their testimonies after the two games.
We are praying to have one more successful day on Friday before traveling back to the U.S. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. We are hopeful that God still has a great work for us to do on Friday.
