Ron on the Road . . .
October was another full month. Almost each week, I speak at chapel for a sports team before they play. A couple of weeks ago, I spoke to Trion High School in Georgia. This public school has a fine Christian coaching staff. Nineteen players received Christ! Meanwhile, John Zeller spoke at a school prior to a game in Florida and 26 players trusted Jesus! SCORE International is intentional in Evangelistic Outreach.
Later in October, Kenny Dickerson, founder of S.E.A.M., a sports missions ministry, invited me to help at a fundraiser in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Big leaguer, Trot Nixon, came and gave a great testimony. Trot started for the Boston Red Sox when they won the 2004 World Series. I was asked to draw the net and make a plea for funds for Kenny and his organization. Trot’s wife, Kathryn also shared her new children’s book which is an excellent book using baseball to teach the fruit of the Spirit. God spoke to many hearts and at the S.E.A.M. banquet, and 16 people made professions of faith.
My passion is evangelism and equipping. Pray for me and SCORE staff. Our goal is to leave a legacy as a sports ministry strongly focused on winning the lost and equipping saints to serve.
As we enter our Silver Anniversary, we want to drive down our spiritual stakes deeply, move fences, and claim more ground for the glory of God. We are experiencing the awesome “anointing of God”, the blessings and favor that cannot be explained, and broader opportunities on campuses, and churches across America that continue to exceed our wildest visions of ministry. Praise the Lord!
’til the nets are full,
Ron Bishop
