New SCORE Missionaries in the DR
Aby and Gladys Prado began a new adventure with their two children in August when they moved from Costa Rica to start a church in the Dominican Republic. Upon arrival, both encountered difficult health problems, but with the Lord’s help have improved and are now busy with their new ministries.
In September the Prados had their first church service in the town of Los Montones. “The very first meeting we had 100 people attending,” said Prado. Despite heavy rains, the Friday night meetings continue with high attendance. “Last week we had 75 people. Praise God for these people!” said Prado.
The Prados have also been working with fellow missionaries Nathan and Erica Jude visiting and evangelizing a poor area called Los Fundos. “He (Jude) has a great heart for these people,” commented Prado. “We help him on Tuesdays.”
Because of the need for Bible training, Aby along with Dominican preacher, Many Tucen, have also started Training Point, a place where people can come to study the Word of God. “The people are so excited and thirsty for the Word of God,” said Prado. Seventy-five people enrolled and have continued through the training.
Every day, the Prados are busy helping with ministries–whether it’s with music, visitation, Bible training or the soccer club that they’ve started in San Pedro. “We are getting on the road,” said Prado. “We are just grateful with God for all that He is doing with us.”
